History

Highland Propane serves approximately 17,000 residential and commercial/industrial customers in Southwest Virginia and Southern West Virginia. Highland Propane was started in 1972 to provide propane service to customers in rural areas where natural gas was not available. Since 1995 we have increased our customer base from 6,500 customers to our current base of 18,000 customers.

We have 17 bulk storage locations with on-site storage capacity of over 600,000 gallons. Our fleet consists of over 30 bobtail delivery trucks. The combination of bulk locations and fleet ensures our customers that we will have propane supplies even in the coldest of winters and provides our customers with exceptional service.

Highland Propane continually looks for ways to "raise the bar" by improving service to our customers. We are currently expanding in the Staunton and Waynesboro, Virginia market and the northern Beckley, Oak Hill, West Virginia market. Our growth strategy is to expand along the major interstate corridors in Virginia and West Virginia where the growth, both residential and commercial, is occurring.
